Chuck is a pharmacist, seasoned healthcare executive, military veteran, and the founder of RxToolKit.
He received a Bachelor of Sciences (BS) degree in Pharmacy from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and spent five years as a pharmacy officer in the U.S. Navy with duty stations in Bethesda, MD and Philadelphia, PA. After the Navy, Chuck transferred to the U.S. Army reserve serving as company commander for the 816th Station Hospital in Binghamton, NY.
Before founding RxToolKit, Chuck served in various leadership roles within large healthcare organizations including Vitalink Pharmacy Services and Omnicare.
Notably, Chuck served as the Operations Manager of Reading Health System’s Pharmacy from 2001 until 2017. At Reading, Chuck was inspired to start RxToolKit as he saw firsthand the need to enhance medication safety through process improvement.
Chuck’s passion for medication safety, clinical competency and process improvement was deepened when he nearly made an error himself in 2007.
On his second shift of the day, Chuck was checking a large number of intravenous (IV) bags and initially missed a mixing error. Something made him go back and double check himself, and thankfully, he caught the mistake.
Reading fully supported Chuck’s effort to develop a software solution designed to reduce medical errors, enhance clinical competencies, increase patient safety, and improve clinical outcomes. Reading is still a client to this day.
Chuck’s near miss led him to befriend Eric Cropp and Chris Jerry. Chuck would later become a board member of the Emily Jerry Foundation where he serves as Treasurer.
Chuck and RxToolKit are also proud members of the National Infusion Center Association (NICA).
