Our Story

RxToolKit was founded in 2001 by Chuck DiTrapano, RPh after identifying the need for a solution to the constantly changing medication information that clinicians rely on to provide proper care. Since its creation, RxToolKit has gained a talented and dedicated team who are passionate about medication safety and helping clinicians provide the best care possible.

RxToolKit’s mission is and always has been rooted in patient safety. Since our acquisition with WeInfuse, I have witnessed unbelievable growth in our library of drug monographs, users, and clinical reviews. These have been met by our talented team whose singular focus is to provide accurate, consistent, and relevant content by and for clinicians. As RxToolKit continues to grow, patient safety remains at the heart of what we do.

Today

Chuck began working at a hospital and recognized the need to improve processes for medication safety and standardization.

Chuck worked with John Neville to develop and launch RxToolKit’s software as an electronic binder for clinical information.

RxToolKit won the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) Cheers Award for “excellence in the prevention of medication errors”.

RxToolKit launched RxCalc: dosing, preparation, and administration calculators designed to minimize errors and improve communication between pharmacists and nurses.

RxToolKit continued to grow, introducing over 20 features and applications, including: the patient information, references and pretreatment/monitoring clinical intervention sections of the guides.

RxToolKit was introduced to WeInfuse, an infusion and pharmacy software platform designed to streamline operations for providers.

RxToolKit was acquired by WeInfuse, marking the unification of the companies’ missions to improve clinical outcomes in the infusion and pharmacy industry.

RxToolKit fully integrated with WeInfuse to allow dual users to access RxToolKit medication information within the WeInfuse platform.

RxToolKit partnered with the Infusion Nurses Society (INS) and the Immunoglobulin National Society (IgNS) to provide users with continuing education (CE) courses.

RxToolKit upgraded its platform to a new application, allowing for more feature updates, such as: more RxCalcs, RxNotepad, and an expansion of the WeInfuse & RxToolKit integration.

RxToolKit expanded its medication library of biologics, antibiotics, vaccines, and other injectables to include oncology medications.

The RxToolKit team is currently working hard to bring even more features, updates, and improvements to the software platform!
